Let’s Get Technical
You want hard science? We’ve got hard science. UCLA did a study to quantify the “Miss Rate” of Static MRI vs. Dynamic MRI. In other words, they wanted to see how big of a difference in accuracy there was between scanning a patient while they were laying down, versus scanning them while they were in the position that most often caused them pain. We’ll spare you all of the jargon, like “spondylolisthesis” and “flexion”, but suffice it to say that it was readily apparent that dynamic MRIs gave the doctors a much better picture of what exactly was wrong in their patient’s bodies.
